The Deputy Chief of Party – Operations, as a senior team member of the Global Fund projects (HIV/AIDS, Tubercluosis, Malaria & MSA), will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations of the Global Fund project including smooth financial management, handling the logistics, preparing budgets and inventories, administrative services and the capacity building of sub-ordinates. The job holder will be expected to harness a working environment which encourages team work, energy and creativity. Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and project proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Master in Business Administration (MBA).
Minimum 10 years (7 years for GSI group) of relevant work experience with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
Knowledge of GFATM financial policies, guidelines and SOPs.
Ability to plan and organize a substantial workload that includes complex, diverse tasks and res possibilities
Leadership skills, including the ability to supervise and motivate qualified professional staff with strong personal value systems
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate skills in leading a multi- disciplined team through a period of change
Analytical, decision making and strategic planning skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
Ability to coach, mentor, delegate appropriately and provide developmental guidance to supervised staff
Computer fluency; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software. Agresso is preferred.
Strong problem solving, analytical, team building and organizational skills.
Ability to make independent decisions, while keeping supervisor appraised of important matters.
Excellent inter-personal communication skills.
Advanced level oral and written English proficiency.
