Scope of Work:
Legal Review and Recommendations:
Conduct a thorough and comprehensive legal review of our game’s concept, design, and functionality. This review will encompass all legal aspects pertaining to the game, with a specific emphasis on ensuring compliance with Nepal’s cyber laws and regulations. Special attention will be dedicated to assessing the game’s suitability for adolescents aged 15-19, aiming to identify and mitigate any potential legal risks associated with disseminating information to this age group. The legal review will be executed with the utmost diligence to ensure that our game aligns not only with Nepal’s legal framework but also offers a safe and appropriate gaming experience for our target audience. Additionally, the legal advisor is expected to recommend measures for maintaining compliance with the law to guarantee both legal adherence and user safety.
The legal advisor is required to monitor the legal and regulatory landscape to identify revisions and updates in regulations as applicable to the game that will impact the game’s marketing and release in Nepal and recommend risk mitigation measures for implementation.
The scope of this engagement involves providing expert advice and recommendation ensuring the digital products that HDI develops comply with applicable legal requirements of the country and effectively protects HDI’s interest.

Drafting Legal Documents:
Develop the following supporting legal documents for the Android game app and web portal:
- End-User License Agreement (EULA): For the Android game app to define licensing terms.
- Data Privacy Compliance: Outline the measures taken to safeguard user data and demonstrate adherence to data protection standards.
- Privacy Policy: To address data collection, usage, and protection in compliance with the privacy laws of Nepal.
- Terms of Service (ToS): To establish rules for game app and web portal usage.
- Cookies and Tracking Policy: Informing users about tracking technologies.
- Copyright Infringement Policy: Addressing copyright violation claims and comprehensive protection for our creative and innovative assets.
- Disclaimers and disclosures: Effectively communicate any limitations of liability or other important information to users.
- Registration: Provide guidance on the necessity of registering distinctive brand elements of our products such as logo, names, or slogans.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Expertise and minimum five years on hand experience in Nepalese cyber laws and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting legal documents for mobile gaming applications and web portals.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting legal documents for data collection, data processing, and data security.

Background:
Howard Delafield International, LLP (HDI) is a behavioral insights consultancy with a global presence and driving innovation to impact lives positively. We have developed a direct-to-consumer digital platform for mobile games using discovery and play to empower young people to become active decision-makers in their own lives. We are part of a USAID award for an Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) project led by CARE in Nepal. HDI intends to establish a youth-centric portal with multiple channels aimed at reaching adolescents to address agency and self-efficacy for the adoption of healthy behaviors and to facilitate adolescents’ reproductive empowerment. We are looking for a consultant/ agency who is well-versed in human-centered design, design research, co-design, and prototype testing, with great attention to detail, to join us. Testing sessions will be conducted primarily with adolescent girls 15-9, as well as adolescent boys on some occasions. Our team is looking to collaborate with an agency or an individual who shares our vision and is interested in participating in this creative and user-oriented process. We welcome qualified applicants to join us. We are inviting expressions of interest from independent consultants, agencies, and teams who work in this arena.
