ROLE PURPOSE

The People and Culture Manager will support Director of People and Culture in human resource management though employee life cycle from talent acquisition, engagement and retention, performance and development to exit. S/he will also work together with Director of People and Culture to develop and review HR policies and procedures and support in ensuring compliance of the global and local standards and policies. S/he will also lead in amplifying Plan’s values and feminist principles and creating a safe and healthy work environment. 

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge and experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or any relevant field (specialisation preferably in human resources management).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the field of Human Resources Management in development/humanitarian sector with experience of supervising staff.
  • Excellent knowledge of current best practices and emerging themes and trends globally and within the local context.
  • Clear understanding of the development sector, its operating and regulatory environment in Nepal.
  • Strong knowledge of local labour law and its practical application in workplace.
  • Proven experience in managing team and coordination, liaison and networking.

  • Strong communication skill with ability to effectively convey information to and interact with a range of people.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and trustworthy relationship at all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to operate effectively under challenging and stressful circumstances. 
  • Demonstrate and role model Plan International’s values and Feminist Leadership principles;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to persuade and influence.
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English and Nepali.
  • Proven IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc and HRIS software.
