Education: University Graduate in Public Health. Master’s degree in Health Sciences will be an asset
Work Experience: Minimum 5 years’ professional field level work experience in planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation of health-related programs. Updated knowledge on immunization program and new vaccine introduction and experience working on EPI with communities at grassroots levels is an advantage.
Technical knowledge and skills
- Good written and spoken Nepali and English language
- Good working relations with local authority and Health Offices very crucial.
- Good interpersonal skills, team-oriented work style, work adaptation in multi-cultural environment, proven ability to facilitate cooperation in a multidisciplinary team.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision, seriousness about quality and timeliness of work.
- Current knowledge of development and technology in related field.
- Knowledge of the health system in Nepal is an asset.
The Provincial Immunization Consultant(s) will report to the Provincial Health Directorate as direct supervisor and second supervisor (i.e., Health Officer in a UNICEF Field Office as well as Health Officer (EPI) in Kathmandu.
The Provincial Immunization Consultants will be based in the Technical Support Units (Immunization) of the Provincial Health Directorates with frequent visits to the field. The institutional HR Service Provider contracted to manage the consultants will need to provide and include the cost the ICT software licensing support required to ensure consultants are equipped with valid Microsoft Office 365 suit and valid Outlook email address. UNICEF will issue UN ID Card under the category of Service Provider for these consultants.
The purpose of this consultancy is to strengthen the capacity of the subnational governments through the TSU in delivering high-impact immunization services to achieve and sustain high immunization coverage. The consultants are required to provide technical assistance to provinces and municipalities in microplanning, training programmes, monitoring and supervision, data analysis, and support for full immunization declaration by addressing equity and system strengthening and effective vaccine management. The consultant’s support is relevant to output 1.2 where National and subnational governments, communities, and the private sector have increased capacity to provide equitable access to quality child health services and to improve healthy behaviors.
