We reach approximately two million population and invest over 30 million US dollars annually to reach more children than ever before, through programmes in Health and Nutrition, Education, Child Rights Governance, Child Protection, Child Poverty, HIV and AIDS, and Humanitarian.

We are currently seeking a Senior Education Specialist- Equity and Inclusion for the USAID-funded Equity and Inclusion in Education Program in Nepal. The project aims to support the Government of Nepal in reducing out of school children and improving learning outcomes for marginalized students. To achieve this, USAID seeks to support efforts to provide targeted support to municipalities to implement evidence based interventions that are driven by the local context in agreed upon provinces of either Province 2, Sudurpaschim, and/or Karnali.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters in International Development, Inclusive/Special ECCD or Education with 7 years of experience in development sector;


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Minimum of 7 years proven experience working on education activities in Nepal;
  • Prior experience working in any of the following area(s) of inclusive ECCD,  inclusive education, systems strengthening, use of digital/contactless education solutions, multi-sectoral programming in education;
  • Understanding of the barriers to education for disadvantaged groups, particularly in Nepal;
  • Experience managing a diverse team with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Proven experience working collaboratively with partners and building capacity of government bodies and local NGOs;
  • Commitment to child rights, gender equality and social inclusion; and
  • Fluent oral and strong analytical, written English communications skills is required.


Desirable

  • USAID-funded program experience
  • Knowledge of local languages of the proposed impact areas
