ROLE PURPOSE

The position will be responsible to provide technical support for the implementation of youth focused program/projects and other projects relating to youth engagement and mobilisation. This position will support Senior Technical Advisor in designing project proposals related to youth participation and engagement. The position will primarily support in capacity building of partners staffs in understanding Plan’s youth centric approach and accordingly provide technical support in implementing related projects. Additionally, the position is also expected to provide required support in operationalisation of strategic area- Lead and Decide of Plan International Nepal’s country strategy 2023-2027. 

S/he will be accountable for the quality implementation of the above task in alignment with Plan’s global strategies/standards and Country Strategy.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications

  • Educational qualification in the area of gender and social inclusion, Public health communication, health education, social science or related subject areas that are relevant.  
  • Bachelor degree with 5 years and masters degree with 3 years’ proven experience in the area youth empowerment. 

Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of national and international policies on youth. 
  • Knowledge of current trends around youth engagement both at national and international arena.
  • Critical thinking, analysis & reasoning.  
  • Influencing people and pitching innovating ideas.
  • Communicating both one to one and in groups in writing, verbally, presentations and reports, in English, Nepali and relevant local languages
  • Effective communication and coordination.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning and problem solving.

Experience

  • Working with youth led/youth focused organisations. 
  • Experience of working with diverse group of children, adolescents, youth led CBOs, NGOs.
  • Organising workshops/consultations, discussion, dialogues 
  • Project Management: planning, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
  • Working with youth related/focused government bodies. 
  • Work experience with UN/I/NGO in similar capacity preferred.
  • Proven experience of similar assignment during past work.
