ROLE PURPOSE

As a new role for Plan International Nepal, the Project Coordinator (SHO project) based at regional Office contributes to programme formulation and implementation of the dedicated project. The position holder will bring specific technical expertise in the thematic area and ensure achievement of the relevant outcomes and impact as identified in the different documents of Plan International Nepal.

The position holder ensures the quality of project delivery and the achievement of agreed outcomes in accordance with program design for SHO project. S/he is responsible to achieve a rights-based, gender transformative and inclusive program. The position holder will also lead on influence work approach in program implementation and provide technical support to the team of Plan Nepal and NGOs in the districts.  S/he also leads the district and sub-national level networking and advocacy in coordination with the respective program teams and communication teams.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree with three to five years or Master’s Degree in relevant area with two-four years of experience in coordinating and managing the health response/recovery projects; Education qualification in public health or nursing is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge and experience on vaccination (regular and COVID-19) campaign of federal government of Nepal tied up with provincial, district and rural/municipal health offices 
• Experience of development and humanitarian issues affecting children, women and families 
• Demonstrated experience in successfully using key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development with respective government (especially with health facilities)
• Strong knowledge of child and women’s rights and gender justice relating with vaccination campaign. 
• Advanced understanding of the development and NGO sector with proven experience of managing multiple partners in different locations.    
• Experience of working with Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) and their mobilization.
• Experience on capacity building of NGO and government staffs related to health projects.
