ActionAid is a global justice federation committed to advancing social justice, gender equality, and the eradication of poverty. Established in 1972, the organization has continuously evolved to address the systemic drivers of inequality and injustice. ActionAid’s core belief is that people living in poverty and exclusion hold the power to create meaningful change within their families, communities, and societies. Since the 1990s, ActionAid has embraced a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) to development, and in 2003, the ActionAid International federation was formed, now headquartered in South Africa.
ActionAid International Nepal (AAIN), a member of this global federation, was established in 1982 as a social justice organization working across multiple provinces of Nepal. AAIN actively engages in national and international social justice movements and collaborates with networks, alliances, and civil society coalitions. Through an HRBA framework, AAIN empowers marginalized communities to claim their rights and challenge the root causes of poverty, exclusion, and injustice. As part of the global federation, AAIN works with partners worldwide to promote social justice, gender equality, poverty eradication, and climate justice.
Project Finance Officer:
The Project Finance Officer is responsible for supporting effective financial and grant management of externally funded programmes that contribute to climate resilience, Ecosystem-based Adaptation, and sustainable development, in alignment with ActionAid International Nepal’s (AAIN) Strategy 2029.
he position ensures sound financial management, planning and budgeting, grant management, financial and donor reporting, with AAIN policies and procedures, donor requirements, and applicable laws and regulations while providing technical and operational support to implementing partners to strengthen financial management, internal controls, and compliance, and contributes to strengthening AAIN’s financial systems, internal controls, and institutional financial sustainability as a member of the Finance Sustainability Unit.
