Samarthya Foundation is a non-profit, non-political organization established in 2026 with the mission of contributing to sustainable and inclusive development in Nepal. The organization was founded through the collective efforts of experienced professionals who have extensive backgrounds in the non-profit, development, humanitarian, and private sectors. Drawing on diverse expertise and practical field experience, the founding members envisioned an institution that promotes long-term, community-driven transformation.
The team at Samarthya Foundation comprises highly qualified and dedicated professionals . The organization is guided by principles of accountability, transparency, inclusion, and sustainability, and is committed to creating positive and measurable change in the lives of vulnerable communities across Nepal.

Samarthya Foundation primarily focuses on strengthening the quality of education in schools, particularly in rural and underserved areas. It works to enhance teaching standards, improve school governance, promote inclusive learning environments/safe guarding, and support children from disadvantaged backgrounds to access and complete their education.

While education remains the core thematic priority, Samarthya Foundation adopts an integrated development approach. Its programs incorporate cross-cutting components such as climate action and environmental sustainability, safeguarding and child protection, gender equality and social inclusion (GESI), disaster risk reduction (DRR), and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in schools. This integrated model ensures that educational improvement efforts are sustainable, safe, and responsive to the broader social and environmental context.

Samarthya Foundation aligns its strategic priorities with Nepal’s 16th National Development Plan, relevant national policies and sectoral strategies, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Through strong partnerships with local governments, schools, communities, and development partners, the organization seeks to contribute to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development in Nepal.
